To solve this problem, we developed BILSTEIN gas pressure technology in the 1950s. With the first series production installation of the gas pressure monotube shock absorber at Mercedes-Benz in 1957, we firmly established gas pressure technology in automotive engineering, in both monotube and twin-tube versions. This means reliable damping and suspension regardless of load, plus greater safety reserves in all dynamic driving situations.
BILSTEIN gas pressure shock absorbers provide high traction and precise handling even under maximum load.
